Assessment and Placement

Assessment is required for enrollment in Math and English classes. Because many classes at the college has a prerequisite for these subjects, it is advisable to complete your assessment. As a high school dual enrollment student, you can complete your assessment through one of the methods below.

How to check Math and English placement results in your student portal:

Step 1: Log in to your SRJC student portal.  

  • Enter your Student ID Number
  • Enter your PIN number*
  • *First timer? Use your temporary PIN (your 8-digit birth date (MMDDYYYY), without spaces). Then the Portal will prompt you to enter your own unique PIN. It is your responsibility to remember the PIN you entered. From this point, you will be using this PIN when using the Student Portal.

Step 2: Click on the Admissions & Registration box

Step 3: Under register, click on Placement Results

Step 4: Follow the chart below to see your next steps.

9th Proceed to step 2 If you have high school records update your high school records. If you don't have high school records, take the Guided Self Placement (GSP)
10th - 12th Check your portal for placement If you do not have placement, update your high school records if needed.
Graduated (less than 10 years ago) Check your portal for placement Update your high school records if needed.
Graduated (more than 10 years ago) Proceed to step 2 Take the Guided Self Placement (GSP)
International high school Proceed to step 2 Take the Guided Self Placement (GSP)
Did not graduate high school Check your portal for placement If you do not have placement, do the Guided Self Placement (GSP)
Completed high school equivalency Check your portal for placement If you do not have placement, do the Guided Self Placement (GSP)
