What is dual enrollment?
Dual enrollment gives high school students the chance to earn college credits early.
Santa Rosa Junior College’s High School Dual Enrollment program is designed to provide current high school students, who are enrolled in the 9th grade or above, the opportunity to get an early start on their college experience. This program provides enrichment opportunities for high school students who can benefit from college-level instruction. Learn more about the dual enrollment pathways.
Why is Dual Enrollment a great value?
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ENROLL FOR FREE.
- No registration fees*
- Complete up to a year of college while still in high school
- Earn high school credits needed for graduation
- Experience real college-level classes
- Save on future tuition costs at four-year universities
*The $46-per-unit registration fee is waived for high school students enrolled in 11 units or fewer. High School students choosing to enroll in over 11 units are responsible for all fees for the total number of units enrolled in the semester or term. Some courses may require payment of a materials fee. Students are required to pay the student health fee and to purchase their own textbooks as recommended or required for their college courses. Other fees also apply.
Let’s look at the potential savings of students completing just one 3-unit class each fall and spring semester (along with one 3-unit class in the summer session) starting from their Sophomore year in high school. Students can accumulate 24.0 units, resulting in a total savings of $1,104, and equivalent to one year of college… for free!
